Palm trees, pool, a dog and a cat—yes, sign me up! We were lucky to visit my high school friend Alina once again and house/pet sit for her while she took a short and well-deserved vacation. While staying at her house not far from Avignon, we explored her village, Caumont sur Durance, relaxed in the garden, and loved on her two pets: Mila the Border Collie and her cat Mișu.

Every year I get SO excited at the promise of sweater weather and fall colors!! While for me there is no doubt that New England takes the cake on the subject, there is also undoubtedly a lot of autumnal beauty to be found throughout the US and Canada. Here are some of the places that captured our hearts during our past trips through New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Maine, Quebec, Virginia, and Oregon. The end of April on Cote d’Azur greeted us with sunshine, a light breeze, and the promise of a warm summer. What a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday in Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer! And what better way to start a two and a half month stay in France than on the Mediterranean coast.

Coffee cup in hand, I step on the patio and take in the view of the emerald ocean. Palm trees sway in the breeze and the sunshine is already abundant even if it’s only 7 am. Normally, I’m not a morning person, but this is a great incentive! Belize knows how to welcome me to my first Caribbean vacation!
