Palm trees, pool, a dog and a cat—yes, sign me up! We were lucky to visit my high school friend Alina once again and house/pet sit for her while she took a short and well-deserved vacation. While staying at her house not far from Avignon, we explored her village, Caumont sur Durance, relaxed in the garden, and loved on her two pets: Mila the Border Collie and her cat Mișu.

Every year I get SO excited at the promise of sweater weather and fall colors!! While for me there is no doubt that New England takes the cake on the subject, there is also undoubtedly a lot of autumnal beauty to be found throughout the US and Canada. Here are some of the places that captured our hearts during our past trips through New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Maine, Quebec, Virginia, and Oregon. Avignon is famous for its rich papal history and unfinished bridge, and I think many of us are familiar with the nursery song: Sur le pont d’Avignon. We explored the city inside the walls in early May. Across the river Rhone, we discovered the historic charm of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon with its citadel, tower, monasteries, and stunning views of Avignon.

Every February, the little town of Golden, Colorado is taken over by the best in fluff. Thousands of golden retrievers invade the streets, spreading joy and collecting pettings from the humans who love them. Each year, the International Golden Retriever Day festivities get more exciting and the crowds get bigger. This year, Colorado welcomed pets and humans from 44 states!
